Understanding Lithium Chemistries

Not all Lithium-ion batteries are the same. Here is a breakdown of the common types we work with:

LFP (LiFePO4)

Lithium Iron Phosphate. Known for excellent safety, long cycle life (2000+), and thermal stability. Ideal for stationary storage, UPS, and replacing lead-acid batteries in vehicles.

NMC

Nickel Manganese Cobalt. Offers high specific energy and power. Commonly used in E-bikes, medical devices, and electric vehicles (EVs) where capacity matters.

LCO

Lithium Cobalt Oxide. High specific energy makes it popular for mobile phones and laptops. However, it has a shorter lifespan and lower thermal stability compared to LFP.

LTO

Lithium Titanate. Excels in safety and low-temperature performance (-30°C). Extremely long life cycle but has lower energy density and higher cost. Good for fast-charge UPS.
